As we gear up for another container of gifts to be sent to Sri Lanka we are looking forward to the usual challenges and blessings that come with this work. Some of the specific needs of the project are outlined in our August Newsletter which you can read about by clicking here.

This year we have 2 students at University and a 3rd student undertaking a 1 year montessori pre-school training course.

Christmas 2011 Shipment Update - and Newsletter

Our Christmas shipment is expected in the port of Colombo anytime soon. Thanks to all our friends and supporters. It will bring much relief to so many poor kids in various parts of Sri Lanka. Gifts are distributed to children in all communities without discrimination.

There are so many exciting things happening - we have 2 students at University and 1 who would like to book in for ’Montessori Teacher’ training course early next year. All of these girls need our support Please contact us if you would like to help.

The year rolls around way too quickly! We are starting to ramp up for this year’s shipment to Sri Lanka but it only feels like we have completed the shipment for 2010. We are certainly kept on our toes.Please feel free to circulate and otherwise send this newsletter as far afield as you can. It is a bit hard to believe that the year has rolled around so quickly and that we are once again gathering up goods, moving boxes up to the hall and sorting gifts. You can Aid our Development

Aid is one thing, and for which we are all grateful. It remains a key part of our program. But building self sustaining enterprises which support people for the long term is an important goal of Network Heaven as well. We have seen success with the mushroom farms. And our contacts in Sri Lanka advise there are opportunities for barbers and hairdressers to derive an income this way. However in order to give a decent haircut they need equipment which is beyond their ability to pay. Maybe you can help.

December 2009 Newsletter

The 2009 container is now in Sri Lanka so we hope to have some photos of the arrival and distribution of the parcels soon.
